{Project: Food Budget} Week 18


Total spend so far this week is $155. I changed things up a bit this week. Having survived the school holidays, I couldn't summons the energy for a food shop with the two little ones, so ordered on-line for delivery...a little more expensive and $8 delivery but sometimes a girl just has to do what a girl has to do:D

Monthly budget is $870.00 - $200 per week...
Family of 6 - 3 big ones / 3 smaller ones...
2 school lunches / 1 kindy lunch to pack and send -1 work away home lunch / 1 work at home lunch -healthy and complete baby mush also required!
I aim for 2 meat dishes for the week and the others, vegetarian.

Tuesday - Melted Leeks and Quinoa with a Poached Farm Egg and Parmesan Broth
Wednesday - Slow Cooker Honey Sesame Chicken with rice and salad
Thursday - Nutty Lemon-Herb Brown Rice with Avocado and leafy greens
Friday - Baked Creamy Chicken Taquitos
Saturday - Rice and Beans
Sunday - Home made Pizza

  1. I love the balance you find between veg/meat-based meals. I think it is such a good message to send to your family (and your blog followers) that you can eat healthy and not focus every meal around meat and still maintain a budget! :)

  2. Great job on the budget this week! So much great food for the price. Even if it was ordered online. I wish we had something like that in Pittsburgh. :)
